Move Postponed

Well the big (er, small) move has been rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Everything is done and approved but the paperwork wasn't going to be done on time. So my car is still packed with the paint and other initial essentials, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to unpack it.

I'm disappointed, but it's only a one-day delay, so I can deal...sort of....

Blog Award (Updated)

** I added my 6th and 7th interesting thing...

I am so excited for my very first blog award from Queen Bee over at Bees and Beans! I've been a reader of her blog for a while now and really enjoy reading it. I usually learn a thing or two over there also!

Rules:

1-Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2-Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3-Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4-Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.
5-Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6-Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7-Leave a comment on each

Seven things (this will be tough):

1. When I was younger I tried jumping off the front deck with an umbrella to see if it would work like a parachute. It kinda did, but I needed more height. (Didn't try it off the roof.)

2. I was really good at math in my school years and wanted to be a math teacher when I grew up. Obviously I didn't and can't remember much of the math that I learned.

3. I sometimes think that I have a mild case of OCD. I like things done just so, but have learned to let quite a few things go by the wayside since having children. Or maybe I just have a little more patience.

4. We are moving this week and I am so very excited!!! Okay, you probably already knew that, but I'm running out of other things.

5. I've never been in a car accident with another car, but I have hit 3 deer and a couple mailboxes (just with my mirror, slowly).

6. I have a fear of drowning. I can swim, but I'm not a strong swimmer. I also feel that I smoked in a past life. It seems very familiar to me, but I really can't stand it now. I've never even smoked anything in my life. Maybe in a past life someone drowned me trying to put out my cigarette. :)

7. I am very sensitive to motion sickness. I can usually ride in the front seat of a car, but not always. I prefer to drive. I also can't see movies in the theater because the large screen throws me off. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older.

I don't have too many blogs that I follow and every other one that I would nominate has already been nominated. So sorry that I don't have anyone else to nominate.

Many thanks to Queen Bee for the nomination of my very first blog award!!!

Monday Blown Away

It's Monday morning and very, very windy outside!! I sure hope the weather gets nicer before we have to move. I also wish we knew if we were moving on time or not! Still haven't heard if everything will be ready or not.

I understand that they don't know when all the paperwork will be done, but the least they can do is let us know if it will be done on time or if we're going to have to delay the closing. This waiting around day after day really sucks!!

Oh What A Beautiful Morning...

Even though I was up early it was a very pretty sunrise.

Now I'm not one to generally be up before the sun rises, but I do like seeing the sunrise and it was especially pretty this morning. Sorry for the picture quality though. I was in a hurry and it didn't look blurry on my camera.

On the way to the bus stop this morning we saw a bald eagle sitting atop a tree on the shore of the lake. It was still there when I drove back by it. They are such a sight to see.

We have been notified that there is a chance our mortgage won't be finished before closing and it might have to be pushed back. As of this morning odds are pretty good that it will be done though. If you could spare any "easy close on time" good thoughts they would be much appreciated. Who would have thought that our mortgage would take 2 months longer than it took to build the house???

The Bulleted List

Every once in a while there really isn't anything specific that I need to share. So on those rare occasions we will use the bulleted list system.

* School is going really well for Ella. She's now getting up a little easier in the morning. I'm still having trouble, but will get through it. She hops right on the bus and runs off to greet us when she's done.

* We close on our house in one week. It's been the slowest week ever! I'm getting everything ready to get moved and organized. I'm so excited to finally move and just can't wait to be all in.

* Ella is selling cookie dough through her school. They are using the profits to put in smartboards for their school and some playground equipment. If you'd like to order some please let me know. This would be for local family/friends and grandma/grandpa because we'll see you soon after. The order forms are due back October 5th.

* Ella started Sunday school again this year and is having a fun time there also. Sam loves playing in the nursery during church time. It's a nice quiet hour for me as well!!

* I've been loving these nice cool fall days that we have here. We could use the rain, but I'm hoping that it holds off until they put the sod on our yard. That should be done late this week or early next week.

* I have fewer bulleted thoughts than I thought I had. I'm going to try posting here more frequently, but over the next couple weeks that might be difficult.

That's all, hope everyone has a great week!

An Evening Boat Ride (With Sunglasses)

The kids love going for boat rides and we've been able to take our fair share this year.

Oh and here's the crib sheet I made for Sam's new room. It matched the color scheme perfectly and it will remind him of the summer on the lake watching the boats.

Many Pictures

Sam has been wondering what to do these mornings when Ella is at school. I've been trying to capture some pictures and he is trying his best to not cooperate....

He gets very excited when it's time to go pick Ella up from school.

We went apple picking on Saturday. They had a great time riding on the tractor and running around picking (and tasting) the apples. (Not sure why the picture of Ella and Sam on the wagon went sideways, but it's too cute to take out.)

Now off to bed. This getting up early is killing me. Ella's not too fond of it either. The kids were waking up early all summer because it was so light out so early. Now that we have to be up the sun isn't. Figures.....

First Day of School

Ella had her first day of Kindergarten today and she had such a great time. We got her on the bus (it was very full already!) and away she went. On her way to school there are a lot of children and on the way home it's just the morning kindergarten class. The nice thing about that is she gets dropped off right at our house instead of at the corner in the morning.

Here are some pictures in the house before we left and one at the bus stop waiting for the bus.

We went biking Labor Day morning. There's a trail by us that we hadn't been on before. It's a great trail and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of it next year.

My view...

And because you always need to see more of me...

Photos

Of course we stopped by the house tonight to check it out. They haven't really done anything since Wednesday, but I did remember to bring the camera and got some photos.

A Conversation....

Me: Ella look, a Mini Cooper.
Ella: Yup, looks just like mine.
Me: Well actually yours is green, this one is red.
Ella: That one looks like mine at Grandma and Grandpas far, far away.
