Busy and Bored

How exactly can someone be busy and bored at the same time you say? Well I feel like I've been trapped inside the house for a few months now and I'm starting to go nuts! Okay, not nuts, but I'm getting grumpy.

I will be the first to admit I'm not a fan of winter. The snow is pretty and all that, but I don't like being cold. Unfortunately I'm not one of those people who run a little warm. I run a little cold. Ella can run around in short sleeve shirts all winter long and be happy. Meanwhile I have on three layers and trying to find something warm to drink. She takes after Zan.

It was -24 Friday morning!! MINUS 24 degrees! I opened the shade in my kitchen window and there was ice half way up it. Keeping in mind our house is only a year old, so it's not like the window leaks or anything. It's just that freezing cold outside. Who in their right mind wants to go outside in that weather? Not me, that's for sure.

So anyway you look at it I'm really looking forward to spring!

Saturday we went to the Mall of America and went to see the aquarium. Sam loves looking at the sharks. They are remodeling the aquarium so every time we go it's a bit different.

I've started working on some summer clothing for myself. I'll need to wear it soon, right? RIGHT?

I finished a shirt yesterday. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

The picture quality isn't that great. I took it last night, so it looks a little yellow. Zan wasn't so sure about the different colors, but I like them together. Plus when it's on and there's a shirt over it you really won't see the green. I just think it gives it a nice touch and a little different.

Next up is a dress. I finally got my pattern in the mail on Saturday and I have the fabric ready to go.

I've also been reading on my Nook a lot lately. I downloaded the Twilight series last week and I'm almost done already. I have a hard time putting the book down and Zan laughs at me when I'm reading in one hand and cooking over the stove with the other.

On Friday morning there were these little paw tracks on our sidewalk. I was showing Ella and we were trying to figure out what type of animal would have made them.

She thought maybe it was a cat or something. I explained to her since it was so cold (-24) that the only animals that liked to be outside were penguins and polar bears. She figured it had to be a polar bear because penguins didn't have little claws. I told her that a polar bear was really big and these were small prints. She said it must be a cub then. :)

This morning before Ella left for school she said thank you to Sam. Sam replied, "No problemo." Too funny!

Winter does get long but I enjoy it. I guess I am one of the cold ones, but I can really enjoy being in also.

We really like the picture of Sammy and the comment "no problemo" is cute, how funny.

The skirt looks fantastic.

We enjoyed your story of you and Ella analyzing the animal footprints in the snow.

I love the skirt. I think the color is adorable.I was hoping to see a picture of the dress.Sammy comes up with some pretty cute things. You wonder where he picks them up.When you are done working at your place will you come to Forest City and do Mine??? I wouldn't even make you shovel the snow. You could use the snowblower.
