Max and Ruby

Ella's favorite show is called "Max and Ruby". It's on Noggin (TV for preschoolers) in the evening and she loves watching it. It's about two bunnies; Ruby is the big sister and Max is the baby brother. It's actually a very cute show. She loves singing the intro song, so I taped her and here it is.

Oh, we went to the preschool open house this evening and she didn't want to leave. We got to see her cubby where she'll put her backpack and all the toys she will be able to play with. The teachers are very nice as well. Next week will come very quickly I'm sure...

Some Random Things

There isn't much going on around here, but I thought I would put up some pictures and a video or two. The kids and I just got over a cold. It seems Zan has missed the boat so far, but you never know. Ella got it Monday, Sam on Wednesday and me Friday night. But we're doing much better. Notice in the second photo that Sam is standing next to Ella. :)

Here's a video of Sam standing and taking a few steps. He always does his best work when there isn't a camera in sight. But this is a start...

A Trip To The Zoo

On Wednesday we went to the zoo. We joined Jodi, Elisabeth, Hannah, Sarah and Jessi at the Como zoo. We all had a really great time. Our favorite exhibit was the butterfly house that they had this summer. There were so many butterflies and they would land on you and fly all over. There was a small dragonfly that landed on Sam's arm. Thankfully he didn't notice because I'm sure he would have tried to eat it. Ella was walking around with her arms outstretched to get one to land on her and one did land on her hand.

All in all we had a great time and by the time we left the kids were just pooped out!

Happy Anniversary!!

We made it 7 years! The time has gone so fast, I can't believe it's been that long. We've had a great 7 years with 2 wonderful children and plan to have another great 7 more. (years, not children) :)

In honor of the big day I thought I'd put up a couple pictures. I would put more, but I can't seem to find my other photo album. Maybe next year.

Is It Good Luck or Bad Luck.....

When a bird craps on your head? I'm not sure what I did to piss off the birds, but one decided to bomb me this evening. We had just gotten back from a walk after dinner and I felt something smack me on the side of my head. Sure enough a bird had crapped on me. Needless to say I got the first shower of the evening.

I'm hoping it's good luck, I don't really need any bad luck. We will see.....

Air Show

Today we went to the Wings of the North air show at Flying Cloud Airport. Ella had such a great time. She was very excited to see and touch the airplanes!

It's been a few years since we went to the air show. At least before we had kids. It hasn't changed too much in the past few years and most of the planes were the same. My favorite is probably the B12 bomber. Very cool!!

Zan's most favorite plane in the whole wide world (his words) is the Corsair that his grandpa flew in the war.

Of course we had to get some ice cream since it was quite warm outside. Sam got his first taste of it and really liked it! (This does not mean you can give him candy and ice cream though grandpa!!) Ella eats her ice cream way too slowly!

Sammy's First Steps

Today Sam took his first steps. We've been practicing on his standing and walking, so today I had him up and headed for daddy. He then proceeded to take about 4 steps towards him. Of course Zan wasn't looking very closely as Ella was jumping all around. I saw it though. I went and got my camera to get it on video, but he was all tired out from the first go round. We will work on getting it though...

Clapping Sam

Sammy has been working on his clapping. It's very cute.

Today I decided to wash up all the clothes that I've purchased recently at the garage sales. I thought Grandma would really appreciate all the things that I've got so I wanted to take a picture for her. Zan thinks I do a good job, but I wanted to show Grandma too. I counted and there are about 45 pieces of clothing. They are mostly for this winter, but some are for next summer too. Considering the average price paid was $.75 each, it's a pretty good deal. I also found great deals for next summer for both of them at Penney's and Old Navy too, which aren't pictured....

My Baby is 10 Months Old!!

I can't believe my little guy is already 10 months old. The time has gone so fast. I know I say the same thing every month, but it is very true. He's been cruising more, he is the fastest crawler I've ever seen, seriously. He's starting to stand a little on his own. I think 10 seconds is his longest so far, but I think he'll be walking quite soon. Then Ella's really in trouble.

He is also a little houdini.

He thinks its really funny to get into things. He gives you a look like see what I can do and I know I'm not supposed to be doing it. He was trying to get out so I asked him, "How did you get in there?" He then proceeded to show me.

He's such a smart little guy too. He's starting to understand some of the things I ask him. For instance if it's his nap time or he needs his diaper changed. I'll ask him if he's ready for his nap or tell him we need to go change his diaper and he'll crawl over to me and stand up to be picked up. So smart.

I also had to order another doggy for him. He has a stuffed doggy that Nana gave him and he has taken a HUGE liking to it. I washed it this morning and it was in the dryer when I put him down for his nap. Needless to say he finally went to sleep with his semi-damp doggy. I figured it would be a good idea to get another one in case we need a back-up. Thank goodness for EBay since it was discontinued.

Trips, Updates & Photos

IOWA:
The State of Iowa (IPA: /ˈaɪəwə/) is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States of America. It is the 29th state of the United States, having joined the Union on December 28, 1846. The state is named for the Ioway people, a Siouan tribe of Native Americans that formerly lived there. It is officially known as the "Hawkeye State" and unofficially known as the "Tall Corn State".

We went down to Iowa this weekend to visit Uncle Bob & Auntie Jill. We all had a great time! It's so nice a peaceful down there. Almost makes me want to move to the country. Thanks guys, we had a great time!!!

Ella had a great time running through the yard and chasing fireflies during the night.

Apparently the guys thought the bed was VERY comfortable. Check out that morning hair!!

Ella has her new backpack that she got for her birthday. She likes wearing it. I guess she's getting ready for school next month. I put braids in her hair. She looks so cute!
